Podcast Production for Nonprofits

Your mission is the story. We make it publishable.

We build and run full audio and video podcasts for nonprofits, foundations, ministries, and membership associations. Strategy, branding, editing, show notes, clips, and publishing, so your team can stay on the work instead of the production calendar.

Wesleyan Impact Partners · Texas Methodist Foundation

A national foundation with a weekly publishing habit.

Igniting Imagination® is the podcast of Wesleyan Impact Partners and Texas Methodist Foundation. It is a conversation show for pastors, denominational leaders, and faith based founders about congregational innovation, church property, technology, generosity, and justice.

The catalogue has passed 140 episodes and the feed reaches back to February 2021. Through the summer of 2026 the show published a six part run, one episode every Wednesday from late July through September 2, covering the changing ecology of the church, philanthropy, readiness for investment, borrowing and property decisions, faith and investing, and what it takes to lead now.

What holds an arc like that together is less interesting than the episodes themselves. Someone has to remember, every single time, that this show does not use the word "legacy," because it quietly suggests a person's generosity is already behind them. Someone has to remember which of the two organizations is named first. Someone has to catch the sentence that drifted into urgency, on a show that is never urgent.

On most teams that someone is one person, and the voice holds right up until the week they are out. So we wrote it down instead. The standing rules for this show live inside the production pipeline, which means episode fifty sounds like episode one whether or not anybody is thinking about it that Tuesday.

Nonprofit copy fails on tone long before it fails on facts. That is why the rules live in the pipeline instead of in a style guide nobody opens.

Startup South Bend - Elkhart · Economic development

One show, two formats, because the calendar is not always the same.

Rooted & Reaching is the podcast of Startup South Bend - Elkhart, co-hosted by Marty Mechtenberg and Chisonga Mukumbuta. It exists to put the region's founders on the record: who is building here, what they needed, and who helped.

The feed holds 55 episodes and reaches back to February 2023. The everyday cadence is a long conversation, roughly 35 to 60 minutes, with one founder at a time. Alex Ann Allen on leaving a factory job and painting more than 120 murals across Indiana. Priscilla Loomis on going from the Olympic high jump to running a business. Joseph McKeirnan on indoor vertical farming at Tingaponics.

Then the region's Idea Week festival arrived and the show did something a monthly interview program usually cannot. From July 10 through August 21, 2026 it published seven episodes in seven consecutive weeks, and most of the festival run was cut short and tight, eight to eleven minutes, because a festival audience wants the story and the name, not an hour.

That switch is a production decision, not an editorial one. Same show, same feed, same voice, two different shapes. It is the flexibility a communications team of one cannot build alone, and it is the reason an event does not have to mean a gap in the feed.

An event is the easiest time to go quiet and the best time to publish. The difference is whether someone else is doing the edit.

Three years of that is what the chart below shows. Early episodes found dozens of viewers. The show kept publishing anyway, and the recent run lands between 800 and 1,300 views an episode on a channel with 122 subscribers. Nothing about that is a trick of audience size. It is what happens when a show is produced, promoted, and not allowed to go quiet.

What three years looks like

Audience is built, not launched.

Most shows are judged on their first month. This one was not. Here is every episode of Rooted & Reaching since 2023, in the order it published, on a channel with 122 subscribers.

What the written assets look like

Every episode also becomes a search optimized article.

Not a summary. A real article, structured to be found by someone who has never heard of your show. This is the opening of the one we wrote for a recent Igniting Imagination® episode, unedited.

H1 Faith-Based Investing for Church Leadership

Meta description Can your investments express your faith? Rev. Lisa Greenwood talks with Jake Barnett and Derek Casteel about faith-based investing, stewardship, and impact.

Slug faith-based-investing-church-leadership

Most of us think carefully about where we give. We think far less about where our money lives while it waits, and what it is doing there. Yet the assets a congregation holds, whether in a rainy-day fund or a permanent endowment, are never idle. They are always at work shaping companies, communities, and the future we are helping to build.

That is the question at the heart of this episode of Igniting Imagination®: can the way we invest our resources become an expression of our faith?

What Faith-Based Investing Actually Means

Jake Barnett, Managing Director of Sustainable Investment Strategies at Wespath, offers a definition that cuts through the jargon. "Faith-based investing is really the practice of seeking to express your faith through the decisions that are available to you as an investor," he says.

The full article continues for another thousand words.

The same episode also produces show notes with chapters, a LinkedIn article and a separate LinkedIn post, an email newsletter, pull quotes, copy for Facebook, Instagram and X, and the short vertical clips.

What ships every episode

One recording becomes a dozen pieces of content.

For Igniting Imagination and Rooted and Reaching, every episode ships as a full content package. Not an edited audio file and a thumbnail.

✓ A full SEO blog post
✓ LinkedIn article, plus a separate LinkedIn post
✓ Copy for Facebook, Instagram, and X

Most nonprofit communications teams are one person, or half of one person's job. That is the real constraint, and it is the reason good programs go unwritten about.

Record once. What comes back is a month of material for every channel you already run, written in your voice and delivered ready to publish.

If your communications director is the one turning episodes into blog posts and captions, you are paying for the podcast twice.

No commitment, no charge

Send us a video. We will cut you a clip.

If you have video anywhere, a YouTube episode, a webinar recording, a conference talk, a keynote from your annual gathering, send a link and we will cut you a clip the way we would cut it for a client.

No charge. Keep it, use it wherever. It is the fastest way to see what our editing actually looks like on your material instead of ours.

Why we offer this. Reels and sizzle decks are easy to fake. A clip cut from your own footage is not.

Paste the link in the form below with a note about which moment matters to you, or say "pick one" and we will find it.

Why nonprofits

Your work is the content. It is just never written down.

Donors give to a story

An annual report is a record. A recorded conversation with the person running the program is the thing that gets forwarded, and it publishes twelve times a year instead of once.

Your board and members are the network

Feature them and they distribute for you. On one association show we produce, ten board members from ten different member institutions each went on the record, and every one of them had a reason to share their own episode.

A team of one cannot also be a studio

The show that dies is the one where communications quietly absorbs editing, notes, and posting on top of the actual job. That is the part we take.

Voice is not negotiable

Mission language is specific and getting it wrong is worse than saying nothing. We keep the client's rules in writing and write to them every episode.

Questions

The things nonprofit teams ask first.

We are a small team. How much time does this take us?

Most clients spend two to four hours a month recording. Everything around the recording is on us.

Will you get our voice right?

We write the rules down and keep them in the production system. For Igniting Imagination that is fifteen standing rules, covering everything from the registered mark on the show name to which of the two organizations gets listed first to specific words the client does not want used. Rules are added when you correct us, and they stick.

Can this run on a nonprofit budget?

Pricing is published openly. Audio production starts at $1,500 per month, video at $3,000 per month, and a six week launch package runs $3,500. See truthworkmedia.com/pricing, or the fuller breakdown of what podcast production actually costs.

Do we need to be in South Bend?

No. We produce shows for organizations nationally. We have an in person multi camera studio in South Bend if you want to record with us, and we produce remotely just as often.

How long before we see anything?

Six weeks from kickoff to first published episode is typical. Audience compounds over months, not weeks. The shows that work are the ones still publishing at episode 20, which is the whole point of the three year chart above. If you want the step by step version, we wrote one: how to start a podcast for your organization.

Our program staff are not broadcasters. Is that a problem?

No. Most of the best episodes we produce are with people who have never recorded anything. That is a coaching and editing problem, and both are ours.

Who owns the show if we stop working together?

You do. You own the feed, the recordings, the finished files, and the show itself, during the engagement and after it. If you decide to take it in house or hand it to someone else, we hand over everything and help with the transfer. Nothing about your show is held hostage by the relationship.

Is there a nonprofit rate?

The published numbers above are the starting point, and we handle nonprofits and associations case by case, because these budgets vary more than any other client type we work with. Tell us what the show needs to be and what you have to work with. If we can do it well at your number we will say so, and if we cannot we will tell you that instead of selling you a thinner version of the thing you actually wanted.

Next step

Let's talk about what your show could be.

No pitch deck, no pressure. A conversation about your mission, your audience, and whether a podcast is the right use of your team's time.

Or skip the conversation and paste a video link in the message field. We will cut you a clip, no charge.
