Reflecting on 2020 and 2021 Goals

As we wrap up 2020, I am sitting at my desk, working, while I’m supposed to be on vacation.

That pretty much sums up 2020. It hasn’t gone as planned.

As I am sitting here, I am thinking about where this company is going in 2021, and how I can help lead it there.

I came up with these 3 simple words.

  • Create
  • Learn
  • Rest

Create

At its core, TWM exists to help people create content, and share their stories. It’s fundamental to who we are. I really believe it’s fundamental to who we are as humans. We were born to create things, and see them come to life. TWM will strive to help bring clients’ dreams to life in 2021, by assisting them in the creation of new ideas.

Learn

2020 has been a time of learning and pivoting, for all industries. This is no different for the creative space. There has been a giant shift in the digital world to create more content online. We’ve seen a giant rise in video this year, across all platforms. We’ve been able to shift with the industry because we have a team and culture that is willing to learn. Learning is what allows us to create at a high level.

Rest

This is probably where I’ve failed the most in 2020. I didn’t rest well. At the start of the pandemic, I was honestly worried that our business would fail. When things started to shut down, and companies started to go under, I got scared. I was legit scared. My answer to this was to work harder and longer. And truth be told, we were fortunate enough, that it worked. But that came at a cost. I took 3 days off over Christmas, and it was amazing. I realized how much rest is needed, in the creative world, but also just for being fully alive. I am going to be better at leading by example, to our team, and those around me, by learning to rest better in 2021.

So cheers to everyone that is reading this. Cheers to getting through 2020. Cheers to moving forward. And cheers to doing some amazing things in 2021.
